Clean India Campaign (Classes 7 & 8)

“In support of our Prime Minister Mr. Modi’s initiative ‘Swachh Bharat’, our school organised the ‘Cleanliness Drive’ from 16th to 18th October 2014, consisting of a variety of frolic activities held in our classes. Our first goal was to keep our classrooms squeaky clean throughout the Drive.

The Drive began with the ‘Poster Making Competition’ in which all the students got the opportunity to show the artistic skills hidden inside them by making posters encouraging people to clean their surroundings and help save the environment.

The next day, students worked on PowerPoint Presentations about keeping our environment clean, and this competition encouraged all our computer-savvy friends to show their talent!

On the third and final day of our Cleanliness Drive, the ‘Paper Bag-Making Competition’ was held and all the students had great pleasure in making a variety of such captivating bags from waste materials. All the classes decorated their class boards with bright pictures and collages all about cleanliness and the environment.

The Cleanliness Drive was concluded by the very nerve-wracking marking of each class on the basis of the cleanliness of the classroom and the decoration of the class board. The whole Cleanliness Drive endeavoured to create awareness about the essentiality of keeping the environment clean among the students, and the Drive has undoubtedly achieved its desired goal very victoriously, since we all our now very aware of our environment and have also been put in the habit of keeping our surroundings clean.”

The students of VI E have dedicated themselves to this movement. They have  taken an oath to continue creating swatch Bharat  awareness in the society. Each student of the class  has  invited nine more individuals to join the  in the “Clean India” movement .

They have been talking to the people in the family and neighbourhood , convincing them to join the cleanliness drive , as they know-

“ONLY A HEALTHY MIND, A HEALTHY COUNTRY CAN MAKE YOU LEAD A MUCH HAPPIER LIFE”

How it all started in class VI E ?

The students were told to write an article on ‘Clean India’ for the class display board .After the articles were put up on the board, the students were explained the benefits of clean India and were motivated to be a part of ‘Swachh Bharat’ Mission  .

Their commitment to the cause reached their homes. Parents willingly joined the drive to clean India . The students submitted the details of their clean India team in the class  in which they  became team leaders of nine members from the society ,who promised to  contribute in a meaningful way   to Swachh Bharat mission.

The  detailed report of team members was submitted in the school .

Students learnt that –“Ideals and values are universal in nature. Cleanliness is one such ideal that belongs to humanity and cannot be appropriated by any one person .Living in a clean environment and practicing personal hygiene is the message of any cultured community”

We, Indians owe a lot to Gandhiji who adhered and actively practice this ideal.
